GMBA hosts a Thesis Proposal Competition for its students each year in order to encourage them to conduct research in innovative ways. The prizes are split into two categories: gold (up to NT$ 50,000) and silver (up to NT$ 40,000). This is a fantastic opportunity for students to get started on their thesis, practice their presentation skills, and win the scholarship. On December 26th afternoon, we hosted the competition, and students enthusiastically showcased their research and thesis proposals in Finance, Renewable Energy and Sustainability, Transportation, Cyber Security, Hospitality, Medical, and other fields.
First and foremost, our heartfelt gratitude goes to Dean Shing-yang Hu (College of Management), who delivered the opening speech emphasizing the importance of the thesis, and Professor Audrey Hsu (GMBA Program Directors), who explained that the thesis is a fantastic opportunity to apply what you learned in class. This year, we have 15 outstanding participants from various industries and countries. Participants delivered a 10-minute presentation on their research topic, followed by a question-and-answer session. During break time, students discussed and shared their experiences with their peers and Prof.
Finally, many thanks to our judges, Professor Leon van Jaarsveldt (Chair), Professor David Andersson from NSYSU, Professor Gideon Loewy, and Professor Chia-Wei Lin from BA Department of NTU, who contributed immensely on this competition and provided invaluable feedback to all participants. One of the spectators shared her thoughts on thesis competitions, saying, “She could learn from the participants what kinds of things she should include and avoid for her thesis, and she can prepare to participate next year,”
