The “Welcome Back Party” for GMBA students was organized by the GMBA Student Council, with the objective to welcome back students to the new semester and give an opportunity to new R13 students to share, engage in conversation and have a good time with their seniors and colleagues.

The activity took place at the Barcade Taiwan venue which was a convenient and centric venue for most of the participants. Also, the establishment was indeed appropriate for the participants and had the right equipment to entertain and allow them to engage in different activities such as playing pool, foosball and arcade video games, while enjoying drinks and food. Also, for those who want to chat and engage in networking or just have a good time with a group of friends; there were a proper number of tables and seats for everyone. All of these perks combined definitely increased the level of satisfaction of everyone involved.

The Student Council welcomed all participants at the front desk, giving each participant a sticker with their name. This simple idea was of great help for everyone to engage in conversation and break the ice. The cheese nachos, French fries, and chicken wings, along with their dressings, were very enjoyable for participants to have while sharing and chatting with their colleagues.

Music, naturally, was also involved at the venue, which lifted everyone’s spirit and really played a big part in getting the mood high and helped everyone to feel more relaxed, sociable and enthusiastic at the event. One of the R13 students was playing as DJ at the activity, everyone was delighted to have a friend and colleague sharing his skills and most definitely made everyone more involved.

The GMBA Director, Ph.D. Bryan Jean, was there present, sharing and engaging in conversation with different students and colleagues. Most definitely, everyone there was indeed happy to have a moment to greet and talk with Director Jean, and to be able to share with him in a relaxed and social setting. He also pleased everyone with an inspiring and welcoming speech, which lifted everyone’s spirit. Through his words he was able to make new students welcome and give good energy to everyone in order to engage this semester’s challenges.

The Student Council also organized a group photo so everyone can cherish the moment, and be able to fondly remember the time shared.

After casually speaking with several students who attended, I received excellent feedback. Many appreciated the opportunity to break the ice and network in a more relaxed setting than the classroom, which helped foster stronger connections among participants.
