Enrich the festive atmosphere by writing some Spring couplets! GMBA student, Alfonso Tsai, who has been practicing Chinese calligraphy since elementary school, gathered GMBA students and teach them to write their own Spring couplets.

After the introduction of how to use a writing brush, we first start with the Chinese word “春”, which not only means Spring, but also implies a new start.

After having some practice, students started to write on red papers. We already have some examples for them as a reference, and students also ask how to write some of the words or wishes. What’s funnier was they started to be more creative and started writing in their own language or add some drawings!

It was a very good experience to have so many people to write their own Spring couplets, we had local Taiwanese, Thais, Korean and Hong Kong students together, and everyone made their own word of luckiness. Wishing everyone have a good start of the year, and happiness throughout the year!
