Graduation season is around the corner! In this semester, GMBA office is holding a series of Career Workshops to help their career development step by step. Our first workshop in February focused on LinkedIn and CV, the Mar session discussed Interview and Job Searching.

 

The session provided valuable insights into the current job market, effective networking techniques, and best practices for navigating the recruitment process. By blending expert advice with interactive exercises, the workshop aimed to help attendees develop a strategic approach to their job search and enhance their interview performance.

A key highlight of the workshop was a session led by a professional headhunter with extensive experience in recruitment and talent acquisition. He provided participants with actionable strategies for job searching, engaging with recruiters, and excelling in interviews, including how to identify opportunities, tailor applications, and optimize LinkedIn profiles to attract potential employers. Participants also learned about the role of headhunters such as how to engage with them effectively and strategies for making a strong first impression with headhunters. Additionally, the session covered interview preparation techniques, emphasizing the importance of researching companies, structuring responses to common questions, and demonstrating both technical and soft skills. The session provided tips on body language, communication styles, and handling challenging interview scenarios to ensure participants were well-prepared for different types of interviews.

Lastly, to reinforce the concepts discussed, the workshop included an interactive exercise where participants engaged in mock interview sessions in which some attendees played the role of interviewers while others acted as candidates. This interactive exercise allowed participants to practice responding to interview questions, receive feedback on their performance, and improve their ability to think in a professional position. The exercise helped attendees identify areas for improvement such as refining their responses, building confidence, and enhancing their overall presentation skills.

The 2nd GMBA Career Workshop provided attendees with valuable knowledge and practical experience to support their career development. By combining expert insights with hands-on activities, the session enabled participants to develop a strategic approach to job searching and interview success. The event underscored the importance of preparation, self-awareness, and adaptability in today’s competitive job market. Moving forward, participants are encouraged to apply the techniques learned, continue practicing interview skills, and actively engage with industry professionals to expand their career opportunities.
