Last Sunday, on Jan 15, GMBA successfully held GMBA in-person Info Session Event.

Around 70 people attended for GMBA Information Session despite the cold weather. Our Dean Shing-yang Hu provided the opening speech and introduced the College of Management. Then GMBA Director, Professor Hsu Wenhsin, shared about having a global mindset to further success in our career and leadership. She also provided the details of the GMBA program, courses, and environment. GMBA focuses on real case studies and experimental learning in a diversified environment. In addition to eight core courses, there are more than 50 elective courses that the students can pick based on their interests with Professors who not only have a strong academic background but are also experts from real-world business fields. Professor Leon van Jaarsveldt further emphasized how the GMBA community is diverse in cultures, nations, and backgrounds and how the innovative teaching the program provides.

Our current student, Judy Lan represented the local students and shared her current experience in GMBA and why she chose the program. Also, another current student Lamberto Lauengco from the Philippines commented how people here gather together to share the same language, which can become lifelong connections even after the program.

After that, our Alumnus Dana from the Class of 2019, shared his experience of pre and post-GMBA journey, the connection he was able to make, the activities participated and still actively connecting to the community. Jessica Sun, another alumina from 2011, who attended both GMBA and EMBA, a key person in cross-program collaboration, shared the different experiences between the two programs.

Then, our Student Council President of 2023, Chiawei Wang, presented how the student council is ready to assist the students in creating memories, making connections, and gaining long-term value. She later shared about the events and activities in 2023 waiting for the students to participate.

The event ended with a coffee and refreshment break at the Open chat area where the participants further inquired about more information with the speakers and current students.

We would also like to thank all the attendees for their participation and Professors, alumni, and students for sharing the information. We appreciate the GMBA office and GMBA assistantship members for organizing the event.

The application period for local students starts on Feb 13, so we are looking forward to seeing you all in the program. If there is anything you are curious about, please reach out to the GMBA website, office, and social media. Good Luck to all the applicants.
